SPINAL DECOMPRESSION SYSTEMS

Spinal decompression systems are non-surgical treatment options that provide pain relief for those suffering from herniated discs, bulging discs, and degenerative disc disease in the neck or back. These state of the art technologies provide traction forces on an intermittent cycle which work to decompress your spine to alleviate pressure and restore health and function back to the affected disc(s). NON-SURGICAL THERAPY

This is a type of non-surgical therapy to treat pain associated with bulging, herniated or degenerative discs. It is a form of mechanical traction that gently stretches the spine and relaxes the muscles surrounding the spine, significantly alleviating pressure from the affected discs and allows water and nutrients back into the disc to restore its health.

REVOLUTIONARY SPINAL DECOMPRESSION SYSTEMS

DRX9000 AND DRX9000C

Designed to provide maximum relief from lower back pain and neck pain associated with herniated, bulging or degenerated discs, the DRX9000 and DRX9000C, respectively, improves your condition effectively without the means of surgery. This state-of-the-art technology relaxes the muscles that surround the spine. The system then applies elongating forces to stretch the spine to relieve pressure from the affected discs.

Both the DRX9000 and DRX9000C calculate a logarithmic spinal decompression treatment curve that is specific for each patient; these elongating forces are divided and applied through 18 alternating phases of therapeutic levels to stimulate the necessitated processes for disc restoration. The system then constantly checks and monitors (several thousand times per second) to ensure that the correct forces are being applied.

The customization of elongating treatment forces specific to the patient’s spinal curve and the constant application of the correct forces ensures that each patient receives the most effective treatment possible and marks a revolutionary breakthrough in spinal decompression systems.

Generally, the treatment protocol is twenty sessions over the course of six weeks, although your condition may require more. The therapy is very relaxing; you may watch television or even take a nap. These spinal decompression systems may be used in conjunction with other treatments, such as electrical stimulation.

Back pain and even neck pain are two very common complaints by those with undetected spinal conditions, many of which may not make their presence known for years. And, while spinal misalignment is a key cause of many of these conditions, compression of spinal joints is an often-neglected factor.

With back surgery reported to be failing 74% of the time, a new factor is needed for New Yorkers suffering back pain. Here are 3 factors we found that make spinal decompression in NYC a contender.

BENEFITS

SPINAL DECOMPRESSION CENTER IN NYC
PROVIDES 3 BENEFITS TO SUFFERING NEW YORKERS.

1. FIGHT GRAVITY’S EFFECTS

Here is where the concept of decompression starts. Patients we have seen have been found to have discs which have become compressed and less spongy over time, simply because of gravity itself. Less space between the vertebrae means more chance for nerve irritation and pain. IN fact, NASA astronauts are reportedly 2 inches taller in space than here on Earth!.

Spinal decompression is directed at reversing this process. We therefore can help patients obtain relief from gravity’s cumulative effects and often a rehabilitation of the disc itself.

2. RELIEVE PRESSURE

While spinal pressure can be due to gravity, the very nature of human activity can accelerate the compression process. Basketball players, jumping repeatedly in each game, tend to get compression injuries. Coming down from a jump places more force on the spine than gravity alone with the body at rest. The result is more-than-usual compression and so much pressure that a disc can bulge or herniate. Whether bulged, herniated or degenerated, we have seen much more rapid recovery of such cases, with greater gains in their treatment than with other therapies alone.

3. A POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVE TO SURGERY

Surgery is never anyone’s idea of a first option, nor is it often a long-term fix. In fact, many of the inquiries about spinal decompression in NYC we have seen are failed surgery cases, many of whom find that it is too late to try this innovative therapy. Spinal decompression adds an entirely new level of possibility to patient treatment for back pain, herniated discs and the like and we find our patients have a much better chance of getting a more lasting result and often avoid surgical intervention.

CHECKING OUT SPINAL DECOMPRESSION IN NYC IS EASY

While we could provide lots of statistics on therapies and procedures, they are all subject to one factor: proper diagnosis. For without this stage, and because every human body is different, no treatment anywhere could possibility be predicted to rehabilitee any conditions of the spine, surgery included.

At Empire Physical Medicine and Pain Management, and Downtown Spine, Sports & Orthopedic Rehabilitation, we take the diagnostic approach to all therapies. Delivering spinal decompression in NYC is no different than any other therapy in that it requires exact and precise diagnosis to determine if it is an option at all let alone its effectiveness for short term relief and long-term result

WHAT IS SPINAL DECOMPRESSION?

It is a non-invasive and effective treatment for herniated, bulging or degenerated discs and very often has been an alternative to back or neck surgery.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

It simply performs traction but at an angle which targets the diseased disc level. This allows herniated or bulging discs to retract, allowing water and nutrients to infiltrate the discs to speed up the body’s natural healing process.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RELIEVE MY PAIN?

When getting the treatment, you can expect to feel a very gentle stretch along your back or neck. The treatment on the machine is about 30 minutes and you can expect to be in our office about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Due to the gentle nature of the machine and its effectiveness many patients start to feel pain relief for the first time while getting this treatment.

IS IT SAFE?

Most patients find the therapy very relaxing and some even find immediate pain relief during the session. Success rates are very high, with up to 86% of patients feeling alleviated pain by the end of treatment.

HOW WILL I BENEFIT FROM IT?

For many of our patients, the care of a back surgeon is also avoided, another success on its own.

You may be a good candidate for our decompression machine if you suffer from sciatica, herniated or bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, or chronic or lingering back or neck pain.

Many of our patients have had persistent pain from nerve compression or pinched nerves that did not resolve despite past treatments.

They have found spinal decompression therapy can help get rid of its associated pain and discomfort by stretching the spine to take the pressure off the nerves, thus alleviating the associated pain it brings.
