1. The Diversified Technique

The diversified technique has 3 main purposes, and they are to restore spinal alignment, repair joint dysfunction, and ensure proper movement and mobility. Using hands-on thrusts with extreme precision, practitioners can restore spinal alignment and increase a patient’s range of motion which may be affected by misaligned joints or bones. This technique is widely used, with 96% of all chiropractors using the Diversified Technique on approximately 70% of their patients.

2. Spinal Manipulation (aka Spinal Mobilization)

Spinal manipulation, also called manual therapy or spinal mobilization, is utilized by both chiropractors and physical therapists to relieve pressure on joints, reduce inflammation, and improve nerve function. While spinal mobilization is a “manual therapy technique” similar to the diversified technique discussed above, it utilizes more gentle thrusting motions and involves more stretching.

3. The Activator Method

A small handheld device known as an ‘Activator’ is commonly used by chiropractors to administer a gentle impulse to the extremities or the vertebral segments of the spine. The spring-loaded device is used to adjust the tone of the nervous system and can be used to treat a variety of conditions from headaches to lower back pain issues.

4. Soft tissue mobilization/ Myofascial Release:
This procedure involves the application of skilled manual therapy techniques to soft tissues in order to effect changes primarily in the nerves, joints and discs. It can also be described as working on underlying connective tissue or trigger points to facilitate the release of acute and chronic muscular tension affecting posture, movement, stability, blood flow and nerve flow. In other words, when I manually release the tension or spasm in the muscles, it elicits a chain reaction to restore Flexibility, Alignment and Balance in both the mind and the body. (FAB)
Our goal is to ultimately improve performance and function of the mind-body, which leads to less pain.
5. Extra spinal manipulation
This procedure involves cranial, TMJ sinus and extremity work and is performed manually.
6. Neuromuscular Re-education is a technique used by our Chiropractor to restore normal body movement patterns. Your nerves and muscles work together to produce movement. Nerves send signals between your muscles and your brain about where, when and how fast to move. Over time, muscle movement patterns are learned and stored in your memory. When nerves or muscles experience damage or injury resulting from trauma and various medical and neurological conditions, muscle movement patterns can be negatively affected. Neuromuscular re-education is one method used by our Chiropractor to facilitate the return of normal movement in patients with neuromuscular impairments.
